Meet our highly trained, enthusiastic and friendly staff who provide a stimulating and caring environment for children from Birth – Five years, giving your child the best start in life.
Joan Bell – Nursery Manager/ Proprietor
I am a qualified member of the Staff Team, I have a wealth of experience in care services gaining the majority of my experiences (25 Years) being employed within a large city council Social Work Services Department.
My knowledge and understanding of the various care services has been most enjoyable, but I can honestly say that my Early Years care experience (17 Years) I have loved most of all.
Janine Bell-Kane – Nursery Manager / Curriculum & Resource Manager
I am also a qualified member of the Staff Team and my experience has all been in Early Years. I have worked now in Early Years for 13 years gaining my HNC in Childcare & Education in ....... First Steps is a family owned nursery and I have had to gain my experiences in Early Years progressing through the various levels of our team from an unqualified member of staff to the post I hold at present, sharing the management of First Steps with my mum Joan.
Gaynor Fox – Early Years Officer
I have now been employed by First Steps as a qualified Early Years Officer since June 2010, I was also previously employed with First Steps and could not wait to become a part of the staff team once again. I enjoy my job working with children of all age groups and the challenges and the rewards that comes with working in this childcare environment. I have been qualified since....... and do love being a part of the team at First Steps, no two days are the same and the staff and children have so much fun every day, but we are all aware of the importance of delivering a safe, secure happy environment where the children can become confident individuals.
Hannah Cochrane – Modern Apprentice Early Years
I am at the present working towards my qualification in Early Years with Carousel Training in Glasgow and have been enrolled there since October 2012, I will become a qualified Early Years Officer and a qualified member of the staff team here at First Steps in October 2013. I love all the aspects of being part of the staff team here at First steps and can’t wait to become qualified and the responsibilities that this will entail as a qualified member of the staff team.
Tracey Morrow – Early Years Assistant
I have worked with First Steps since April 2013 this being my second time being employed as an Early Years Assistant with First Steps, the first was in 2003 until 2008. I am presently an unqualified member of the staff team but hope to rectify this very soon by successfully securing a college course or being enrolled on a in house training course to gain the necessary qualifications in Early Years. I have always loved my job in childcare but left due to family commitments and studying for my childcare qualification, I am now more than ready to take on the responsibilities of studying and working here at First Steps to enable me to become a qualified member of the staff team.
